The 2025 edition of ArtXLagos is set to be a milestone experience as it focuses on the theme “Imagining Otherwise, No Matter The Tide.” The much-anticipated fair opens up a space for the art community to envision new possibilities and forge deeper connections.
Curated to deepen the bonds between gallerists, collectors, artists and fairgoers, Art X Lagos rallies galleries to embrace their role as essential voices in the global dialogue we have cultivated over the past decade.
To this end, a powerful roster of both international and local galleries will be featured; showcasing innovative, contemporary African art here at home and abroad.
The main galleries this year are: Affinity Art Gallery; Afriart Gallery; Alexis Galleries; Galerie MAM; Gallery 1957; KO; Nike Art Gallery; O’DA Art; SMO Contemporary; Tiwani Contemporary; Wunika Mukan Gallery; and Yenwa.
The three spotlight galleries are: Adegbola (Gallery), AMG Projects and Nomadic Art Gallery.
ART X Lagos is West Africa’s leading international art fair, showcasing and supporting contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. Founded in 2016 by Tokini Peterside-Schwebig, the fair has become a cornerstone of the African art sector, attracting artists and galleries from over 70 countries with attendees and participants from 170 nations worldwide.
Featuring works from emerging and established artists, with a focus on African art, culture, and community. A lively panel discussion series called Art X Talks fostering dialogue and sharing unique perspectives through African art is one of the highlights of the fair. Others include ART X Live! which is a showcase featuring collaborations between emerging artists and musicians from across Africa.
Also, the ART X Cinema is a coveted section of the fair with it’s immersive audio-visual experience showcasing films by Africans.
The 10th edition of ART X Lagos is scheduled to take place from November 6-9, 2025, at the Federal Palace in Lagos, promising to spotlight African creativity through visual art, music, film, design, literature, and bold cultural programming.
