Mothers of Chibok as Opening Movie at iREP Film Festival 2025

The 2025 edition of iREP Documentary Film Festival kicks off this Thursday with ‘Mothers of Chibok’ as its opening film.

Convened by Femi Odugbemi, this annual film festival is scheduled to be held at Alliance Francaise, Mike Adenuga Centre, Ikoyi.

‘Mothers of Chibok’ tells the story of an extraordinary group of Chibok women, over the course of one year’s harvest cycle, who go on in the face of continuing terror in an attempt to secure better lives for their children.

iREP,  a genre-specific film festival, celebrates the ever-expanding world of documentary films by inviting talents from across the globe to share ideas on trends and technological advancements.

A first-of-its-kind in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa, was founded in 2011 by Femi Odugbemi, Jahman Anikulapo and Makin Soyinka aiming to empower African storytellers and showcase documentary films.
