New Opportunities for African Artists

 

Ambition-driven artists can now apply for a variety of opportunities to grow their career.

Let’s begin with the Biennial International Sculpture of Ouagadougou BISO 2025. Interested artists are invited to compile a dossier comprising the following elements:

  • A completed application form (available by clicking here)
  • A curriculum vitae summarizing the artist’s training, professional background and experience, as well as a history of public and gallery exhibitions (maximum 2 pages, Word or PDF format).
  • A short text presenting the artist’s artistic practice and highlighting the coherence of his or her work with the theme of BISO 2025: “Unbearable Frontier” (maximum two pages, Word or PDF format).
  • A selection of visuals of a maximum of 5 works by the artist (JPEG format), in colour, with captions specifying the materials and technique used, as well as the dimensions. The artist may submit existing works or projects for works specifically created for the BISO.

Open call: Africa Rising Music Conference 2025 artists and speakers

The Africa Rising Music Conference (ARMC) is inviting artists and speakers looking to participate in the ARMC 2025 to apply to join the line-up. The event is set to take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, on May 28th and 29th.

ARMC is a premier annual two-day music conference that brings together music professionals from across Africa and beyond. Dedicated to championing African music on the global stage, ARMC fosters creativity, networking, and professional development, offering a collaborative and inclusive environment that fuels the advancement of the African music industry.

ARMC 2025 is calling on forward-thinking artists, DJs, and producers who are passionate about African music and have begun building fan bases or collaborating with African artists, labels, or communities. With Africa’s music industry witnessing exponential growth – streaming platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify reporting over 200% increases in listenership – this is the moment to be part of a vibrant, unsaturated market full of potential.

ifa Artists’ Contact Programme

The ifa Artists’ Contact programme promotes the international cooperation of German and foreign persons engaged in the cultural sector. Working stays as well as working tours from developing and emerging countries to Germany are supported if the realisation is in the interest of foreign cultural policy. Focus on visual arts, 2 deadlines per year (31 January and 15 August).
