Moleskine Foundation in collaboration with Wikipedia is opening up opportunities for African creatives with the WikiAfrica Education programs.
WikiAfrica Education is a platform of empowerment that amplifies voices from Africa to reflect the continent’s rich and valuable history, languages, people, and communities. The vision of WikiAfrica Education is to inspire a new generation of African creative thinkers and doers by increasing production, access, and awareness of contextually and linguistically relevant knowledge resources from Africa.
WikiAfrica is an international movement across the African continent and beyond that encourages individuals and organisations to create, expand and enhance online content on Wikipedia about Africa.
The call for applications for High Educational Initiative sessions in English has now been declared open. There are two 5-week long online sessions this year: from 15/3 to 19/04 and from 10/05 to 07/06.
This is for young people aged 16-28 who speak an African language. They can also participate in the training to learn how to create a Wikipedia article and then continue to edit in their local language (the case with Colombia).
The deadline for the first session is March 8th.
