10 Items to Remove from Your Wardrobe in 2024

Wardrobe Items

It certainly feels good to be alive this year. Usually, this is the time to take another look at the wardrobe as many clothes ring in years and scream for replacements. 2023 was an extremely difficult year for many. The inflation rates were at an all-time high. Clothes became luxury as many expended the chunk of their income on food and fuel. Still, clothes and other accessories are an essential part of daily needs. We need clothes to look presentable, acceptable and need we add, delectable?

If you are not in the habit of changing clothes often, one factor that makes wardrobe review necessary is your age. As you grow older, you may need to redefine your look. When you work in an environment that revolves around youths, you need to stay within the corridors of ‘trendy.’

Of course, if you move out of your country to a new place without a car, you may also reassess the kind of shoes that you wear. If you made a transition from a formal work setting to an informal one, you will need to perfect the business casual look. With those points in mind, here are some of the items you need to remove from your wardrobe as fast as you can.

  • Faded Suede

Are you a fan of suede shoes? Or bags? Listen. You need to get rid of faded suede that cannot respond to polish. Be sure it is completely worn before you discard the shoes otherwise a neighbour who is gifted with restoration will take ownership of your forsaken item.

  • Overused Wigs

Ladies are fond of reusing wigs so much that they tend to forget that wigs have a lifespan. Once you see that your wig has lost its spark, throw it away.

  • Torn Towel

Why do we buy more clothes than towels? Towels deserve our attention as much as our toothbrush does. We need to re-evaluate how long we have used a towel to decide whether we want to keep them for another year.

  • Bras that won’t fit

It is time to get rid of brassieres that won’t do their job of supporting the breasts. Nowadays, young ladies don’t even wear bras. But if you love to have perky breasts by the time you are 50, keep those bras on and make sure they are firm. In fact, get sport bras to help you stay in shape even after burning calories at the gym.

  • Tight Clothes

Have you suddenly gained weight and you don’t want to go back to looking slim? Then, you need to discard tight clothes or simply check if there are sim allowances on the reverse side of your garment. Most custom-made clothes have them.

  • Loose boxers

Most elastic undergarments get worn overtime. You can spend what’s left of the holidays on buying sparkling new boxers.

  • Peeled Leather Belts/Accessories

You need to get rid of leather belts that are peeling off. If you can’t fix ‘em, then ditch ‘em.

  • Fake Designer Bags

In case you haven’t been following global news lately, immigration laws are tightening around the necks of travellers who carry fake designer bags. High fashion brands have clamped down on persons who patronise intellectual thieves by placing heavy fines or detention on any defaulter.  Don’t say you are buying Africa when you’re caught.

  • Cheap Perfume

Do you know you can lose a job opportunity if you reek of cheap perfume? Some people find it difficult to endure the smell of cheap perfume and may wonder if you can represent their brands and organisations with such taste.

  • Shaky, Wobbly High Heels

LMAO.  Don’t be caught dancing ‘fuji garbage’ in 2024 because of shaky heels. Ditch them before they send you to an orthopedic home.
