MUSON Announces Long Vacation Courses

A performance at MUSON festival

This comes as a piece of good news for parents and guardians who want their children to learn music in Lagos. The Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) has announced its plan for long vacation courses in music. This is a wonderful opportunity for young ones to learn and master the art of playing piano, violin, drums, guitar, saxophone, cello, trumpet, flute, clarinet as well as the theory of music.

Situated in Onikan, Lagos, MUSON Basic school boasts of experienced and qualified music instructors, comprehensive training curriculum, state-of-the-art facilities, excellent and secured learning environment, small class sizes for individual attention as well as opportunities to perform.

Although the vacation course’s duration is from July to September, the programme has been arranged with flexible class option to enable many to participate. There are three major learning options: 10-week course, 8-week course and one-month intensive course.

MUSON was established with the objective of promoting the understanding, enjoyment and performance of classical and contemporary music in Nigeria and to promote music education to young or old willing music lovers.

The society is the proud owner of Nigeria’s only professional symphony orchestra and a renowned choir both of which now constitute unique platforms for training and grooming promising young Nigerian artists and instrumentalists in the performance of classical and orchestral music at the highest level.

MUSON also offers a regular programme of concerts throughout the year and an annual Festival of the Arts now in its 25th year which lend to MUSON’s recognition as one of the greatest voluntary efforts in the aid of the arts in any country in the world.
